Like I Do

Say It to my face, at least your forget what you said, but I’ll remember like I do.   Cling to those words torn apart by you.  You break me down and swing me round until I’m back to where I started.

Never an unkind word, just jokes like I do.  I’ve grown a back bone, what do you want me to do?  talk back at the top of my lungs?

Like arrows going through me, I don’t quite heal the same.  New skin doesn’t cover up what was torn apart.
